An Interesting Collection of Interwar Period Photographs and Ephemera, relating to J53479 Chief Petty Officer Harold Charlesworth, who served with the Royal Navy from 1918 until 1945, including serving on HMS Suffolk of which many of the photographs relate. The collection comprises snapshots taken by him of his colleagues, the places visited including China, Chile, Brazil, Japan etc., souvenir postcards, his Certificate of Service, Torpedo History Sheet, Wedding Certificate and photograph, wooden ship's plaque to HMS Suffolk, a small silver trophy cup, a silver medallion ''Fleet Torpedomens Relay, Bermuda 1932'', his peaked cap with raised bullion thread embroidered badge and the order of service for the Committal of his Ashes at Sea 9th December 1992. Provenance:- Harold Charlesworth was the vendor's uncle. He served in the evacuation of servicemen from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk in 1940. He was awarded the D.S.M. for actions in the Madagascar Campaign which was the British campaign to capture the Vichy French-controlled island. The vendor is happy to speak to the purchaser with more information.
