Taxidermy: A Large Cased Diorama of Australian Mammals and Reptile, circa 1876, Australia, by Henry Shaw, Taxidermist, Salop, a fine rare diorama containing three Duck Billed Platypus, a Goanna or Monitor Lizard, Flying Squirrel, and three Quolls, all mounted above a mirrored simulated water floor, upon a painted faux rock ledge, amidst a natural setting of ferns, mosses and fauna, set against a pale blue painted back drop, enclosed within a large oak framed three-glass floor standing display case, 104cm by 49.5cm by 132cm, bearing copper shield - '' Australia, Collected, by H.L.H.P'', signed and dated to interior floor H. Shaw, Salop, 76 .
