Great Britain, the Queen Victoria postal history volume, magnificent display of 19th century stamps and postal history with approx. 100 covers plus postal stationery, with many hundreds more stamps and on-piece postmarks. Highlights include 18th century bishop mark, red crowned circle on wrapper with contents implying abuse of the 'free frank' privilege, 1846 'ship letter', black plate/s 1d red on cover, lots of colour pmks on 1d red imperfs incl blue MX, wonderful pages of the 'distinct' maltese crosses and numbers in cross, etc. Then the perf issues, incl reverse advertising, a bewildering variety of postmarks, plate number multiples, on to surface-printed to 5/-, incl. 1855/56 6d pair on cover to Western Australia, 1883 2/6d lilac on blued paper (signed), etc. Everything is here for a reason, there will be much to discover for those with knowledge.
