The leaf has been repaired and retouched in numerous places as it has considerable wear and tear and still displays splitting, tears, holes and staining. Some parts are replaced. Some wirework on the guards is loose. The sticks are alternatively gilded white metal and plain white metal, but all have the enamel detailing. The back of the fan is not decorated at all now, and is sold a/f. It is in a glazed modern giltwood display case for wall hanging. 100511

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
