A Rare Gecophone Type BC2001 ‘The Smoker’s Cabinet’ Wireless Receiver

fitted with twin PM-series valves, retaining the bright-emitter gauze side windows, twin tuning dials and selectors on ebonite panel behind twin doors, battery compartment below, Gecophone and BBC decals, in polished mahogany table cabinet, with a plug-in wavelength coil and a spare pair of PM-series valves.

The former owner confirmed that this set was one of the last to be worked on by the late great Gerald Wells on his bench at Dulwich in mid-2013, where, with assistance, he also rebuilt the aerial boss, loading coil bridge-link and door interior cards.
