Henry VI founded Eton College in 1440 & dedicated the College to the Virgin Mary. The seal depicts the Coronation of the Virgin Mary in the centre of the Seal & standing on a shield bearing the Arms of Eton, two angels placing a crown on her head & others holding shields depicting the Arms of France & the Arms of England; on the reverse is a quotation from 'A History of the English-Speaking Peoples' by Winston Churchill describing the death of Henry V and the passing of the crown to his infant son, Henry VI; diameter 70mm, wt. 204g Britannia silver (.958 silver), edge hallmarked, in case of issue, as struck
