The Austin Maxi produced by Austin and latterly by British Leyland was the first five-speed, five-door hatchback car to be built in Britain. It is a typical British icon and most families will either have owned or remember one fondly.
The current keeper was told that this car is the third oldest survivor and is in largely original condition.
Presented in "Lime Flower Green" with a matching interior and is in generally good order considering its 83,344 miles and forty five years of age.
Still fitted with a parcel shelf and there is an unused dog guard within the boot.
Fitted with five speed manual gearbox and front fog lights. Supplied with previous invoices and MOT certificates dating back to 2001 at 79,162 miles then a gap until the last certificate in 1989 showing 78,831 which seems to indicate a period of around 12 years when the vehicle was obviously stored off the road.
The vehicle is sold with the spare parts listed in the condition report and period picnic accessories.

The Maxi is in very good condition for its age with only surface rust showing on the trailing lower edges of the front wings and a small amount around the rear arches. The inner wings have a small amount of surface rust but no heavy corrosion is apparent. All tyres are Goodyear Duragrip and all have excellent tread. The interior is in remarkably good condition with very little wear.
