A Bone Fan, with unusual shaped sticks, the gorge widening into an oval at alternating intervals, these sections, as are the guards, painted with pink flowers and green leaves. The double fabric leaf is a strong pale pink to the recto, cream to the verso, the recto being painted with delicate flowers and buds in pinks and white, a colourful bird swooping to collect the pollen. Signed Yette. Probably early 20th century. Together with A Large Circa 1890's Bone Fan mounted with cream gauze painted with large green butterflies in flight, spangles in various shades of green embroidered on the wings and reserves, giving lightness and shine to an already airy appearance
Fan 1: Guard length 9 inches or 23cm
Fan 2: Guard length 13.75 inches or 35cm (2)

Sold for £70
Estimated at £90 - £120

. Pink fan, bright and clean, in good order. Butterfly fan; some light brown marking where the gauze is stuck to the guards, and a few small foxing spots at the upper edge, despite which this is generally a sound and attractive fan.
