Taxidermy: Indian Leopard Skin Rug (Panthera pardus fusca), circa 1937, by Shadi Tula & Sons, Taxidermist's, Mohalla Ambertalab, Roorkee, Upper Pradesh, Northern India, a superb high quality large adult skin rug with snarling open-mouthed head mount, glass eyes, backed on to period dark brown canvas material, with dark blue felt scalloped border, 255cm long nose to tail, 157cm wide across forelimbs, 146cm across the rear limbs, unusual to have facial whiskers still present, including the original taxidermist's price guide, also copies of the original hunt photographs. Little is known regarding this historical taxidermy company, founded in 1887, competently preparing and mounting a wide variety of native Indian species, the company is still in buisness today as a manufacturer of various clothing.

This specimen would require a re-export licence to export from the UK, an import permit would be required into your chosen country, this is the responsibility of the buyer alone, Tennants Auctioneers do not offer any onward re-export or import licences.
