'The Churchill Centenary Picture Medal' a box-medal (diameter 77mm (3'')), struck in sterling silver containing a complete set of 13 card roundels (diameter of each 70mm) depicting, in full colour, significant events in Churchill's life including his childhood at Blenheim, the Battle of Omdurman, his marriage to Clementine Hozier, his visit to the Normandy beach-head, VE Day in London and the funeral launch as it left Tower Pier in 1965 & all with full details on the reverses. The obverse of the medal has the legend 'BRITAIN'S BELOVED BULLDOG WINSTON SPENCER CHURCHILL' around the facing portrait of Churchill by David Norris, the reverse features Churchill's personal arms in high relief. Issued in 1974 by Toye, Kenning & Spencer Ltd in a limited edition of 1,000; in fitted case of issue & complete with a small pair of tweezers for handling the card roundels; BU as issued.
