Possibly 14th Century Cream Silk Sleeve Fragment, woven with flowers in blue, yellow and red with green stems, in a modern frame with provenance typed to the reverse Provenance; found circa 1950 at Chapel Farm, North Kilvington, near Thirsk, under a stone step by the altar in the Chapel, originally enclosing a woman's femur, together with a small apothecary bottle. The Meynell family had resided at Kilvington since the 14th century, and the original chapel remains. The Victoria and Albert Museum believe the silk to be Italian 14th Century, made in Turin.
