Lieutenant Colonel Harry Stephen Bagnall, Burma Rifles (late Green Howards) - an Interesting Collection of Letters, Photographs and Ephemera Relating to his Family and Career in Burma and India, including his commission as 2nd Lieutenant to the Yorkshire Regiment, 1911, an embarkation notice from Bombay to England 1919, sports programmes, newspaper cuttings, dance card, table plans, letters of regret dated 1938 at his leaving Mandalay where he commanded the 2/20th Burma Rifles, letters to him from an Italian Prisoner of War in a camp in India which he had commanded in the 1939-45 War; and also including a letter in gilt tooled leather wallet relating to his grandfather Capt. John Nock Bagnall 12th (Bilston Company of Staffordshire Volunteers); his father's (Thomas Nock Bagnall) commission as 2nd Lieutenant 15th Foot, 1874, with a silver shooting medallion to Lt.Col. T N Bagnall, Royal Jersey Militia and regimental photographs; and his parent's Marriage Certificate 1881, all contained in a large scrap album and two small photograph albums, with a book History of the India Rifle Club, in which he is mentioned several times, two pocket diaries for 1912 and 1919, his silver Green Howards cap badge, Burma Rifles brooch, six sports medals, a Coronation Medal 1911 and an Interesting Album of Photographs showing Burmese and Indian natives, the Delhi Durba, regimental group photographs etc (qty)
