A Collection of George III and Later Table Silver, mostly Fiddle pattern, many pieces engraved with differing crests, comprising: 7 table-forks 7 table-spoons, four Old English pattern 8 dessert-forks 2 dessert-spoons 6 teaspoons A salt-spoon A mustard-spoon Together with: Six silver and ivory fruit-forks and five silver and ivory fruit-knives and six pairs of silver plate beaded fish-eaters, with an associated oak canteen, the cover applied with a plaque engraved 'Miss Charlotte M M Mountain', the canteen 38cm wide weight of silver 52oz 8dwt, 1,630gr (qty) Most of the engraved crests are either Mountain, for Jacob Mountain, Anglican Bishop of Quebec (1749-1825) or Arabin, into whose family one of his descendants was to marry.

. There is overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a loss to the tips of the forks particularly as well as to the edges of the bowls. There are some bruises overall. The ivory handles have some discolouration and the blades and tines are separating in some piece on the silver plate fish eaters. The table-forks: Four engraved with Arabin crest, two by William Cummins and one by Philip Weekes, Dublin, 1839 and one London, 1818; three engraved with a differing crest, by Eley and Fearn, London, 1816 The table-spoons: two Fiddle pattern, engraved Arabin crest, by William Eley, 1826; one Fiddle pattern with differing crest, London, 1836, four Old English pattern, one with Mountain crest below Bishops mitre, two indistinctly engraved, London, 1 1793, two 1786 and one 1809 The dessert-forks: five by Elizabeth Eaton, 1846, unengraved; one with Mountain crest below Bishop's mitre, London, 1818 and two with Arabin crest, by William Eaton, 1832
