A George II, George III and William IV Silver Table-Service, Various Makers and Dates, Hanoverian pattern, some variously engraved with crests or initials, comprising: 18 table-forks 18 dessert-forks 18 dessert-spoons 8 teaspoons Together With: 8 Old English pattern teaspoons 85oz 19dwt, 2,673gr (70)

. Each piece marked on back of handle. There is wear to the marks on many pieces but in general the marks are legible. There is overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving and the tips of the tines. The table-forks: Five by Richard Crossley, 2 1796, later engraved with initials; 2 1798, engraved with a crest and one 1792, engraved with a crest; four by John Lambe, 1782, engraved with a crest; four by Eley, Fearn and Chawner, 1800, engraved with a crest; one by Fearn and Chawner, 1802; two by William Sumner, 1794 and two by Smith and Fearn, 1786, engraved with initials. The dessert-forks: four by George Wintle, 1794, engraved with initials; two by Mary Chawner, 1836; four by William Chawner, 1818; three probably by Fearn and Chawner, 1 1802 and 2 1798, engraved with a crest and five various. The dessert-spoons: Six probably by William Soame, 1732, engraved with a crest below an earl's coronet; two possibly by Thomas Dealtry, 1761, engraved with a crest below an earl's coronet and ten probably by Thomas Chawner, apparently 1771, engraved with a crest. The Hanoverian pattern teaspoons: marks indistinct, probably circa 1770, engraved with a crest. The Old English pattern, various makers and dates. Some engraved or later engraved with initials.
