Late 19th Century Marquis of Ailsa Blue Wool Carriage Driving Lap Robe, with cream wool edging and cream appliqué trellis style trim to the edges, with flowers running through and each hand stitched with a couple of stitches of green silk to each flower head, it is worn by wrapping the rug around the driver, the leather buckles are fastened, the decorative pocket at the front is to hold their gloves and the quilted silk pocket to the inside to keep their feet warm, it is embroidered with his monogram and coronet in cream and blue silk to the inside, 230cm by 133cm
