A German Parcel-Gilt Silver Glove-Tray
by Johann Eißler, Nuremberg, Circa 1700

oval, the body formed of a lattice of pierced flowerheads, with a part-beaded rim above a plain border, the centre chased with foliage and flowers on a matted ground, with two gilt foliage and flower stamped handles

Marked on rim with Nuremberg 'N' town mark and maker's mark. The marks are generally clear. There is overall some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is one area of repair to the pierced latticework and some splits to the border and some small holes. The handles are each attached to the body with screws, one bolt is lacking. There is some bruising and unevenness to the surface overall.
