A Three-Piece Chinese Export Silver Tea-Service With a Pair of Sugar-Tongs En Suite
Artisan Mark of De Long, Canton and Hong Kong, Retailed by Sing Fat, Canton and Shanghai, Late 19th/Early 20th Century

each piece cylindrical and on spreading foot, the sides chased with a dragon in high relief, comprising a teapot, with ivory-insulated handle; a cream-jug and a sugar-bowl with cover, the sugar tongs cast as bamboo, in fitted wood case with sliding cover and brass drop-ring handle

Each piece marked underneath with retailer's name; '90' standard mark and Chinese character mark. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some staining, discolouration and cracking to the ivory insulators on the handle of the teapot. The ivory insulator on the cover of the teapot similarly cracked and discoloured and further damage. There are some scuffs and marks to the case. The silk inside the case with some staining. There is a small wood section which sits inside the handle in the box that has become detached.
