A Set of George IV Silver Knives, Maker's Mark JH, Circa 1820, each with gadrooned handle and with shell stamped terminal, most engraved with a crest, comprising: 6 table-knives and 8 cheese-knives, each with steel blade and filled handle; Together With: A set of Six George IV Silver Table-Knives, Maker's Mark worn, circa 1820, engraved with a crest, with steel blade and filled handle and a set of twelve Victorian silver fruit-knives, London, 1840, engraved with a crest, with silver blade and filled handle (32)

The George III knives are each marked on handle with lion passant and maker's mark. The second set of knives may have maker's mark MP. There is wear to the marks on many pieces with some illegible. The blades with cutlers marks for Joseph Rodgers. The Victorian knives are each fully marked on handle and blade. The marks are generally clear. The George III knives with surface scratching and wear as well as some bruising. The wear is noticeable as wear to the high points and the engraving. The cheese-knives with splits and bruises as well as some loss to the silver. The blades on some of the fruit knives separating from the handles on some.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
