Taxidermy: A Cased Little Grey Kiwi (Apteryx owenii), dated 1862, attributed to Henry Ward, 1812-1878, Late Williams, 2 Vere Street, Oxford Street, London, a superb full mount adult with head turning very slightly to the left, stood upon painted groundwork, amidst dry reeds and weeds, enclosed within a later period style five-glass table display case, with painted taped frame, 40.5cm by 29cm by 37cm, hand written data to leaf within the front of the case - "Little Grey Kiwi Apteryx owenii, South Island, 1862 "

Case is later and not of the period, groundwork original, bird is an antique specimen, hairline crack to top glass panel at the rear barely noticeable.
