Antlers/Horns: Alaskan Yukon Moose (Alces alces gigas), circa 1869, Yukon River, Alaska, ex Duke of Westminster Collection, monumental adult bull horns on painted oak cut upper skull, 37 points (20+17), widest spread 72", height 49", mounted upon a shaped oak shield with gilt highlight, bearing identification plaque. Provenance: Ex-Lot 849, "The Kenneth Whitehead Deer Collection", Tennants auction 21st July 2005. The Gold inlay around the shield indicates this specimen was shot by Royalty.
