A 16th Century Joined Oak Open Armchair, the back support with lozenge carved panels and downswept arms, a floral squab cushion above a nulled seat rail, on turned forelegs joined by a peripheral stretcher, 58cm by 40cm by 89cm

The legs are stable with numerous decay throughout the legs and around the peripheral stretcher. The back support's left-hand lozenge panel has a large split. The top rail is possibly reduced in height slightly. The strung seat is of later date. The base of the lozenge panels also has two sections of timber which are of a later date added. There is a small repair to the right-hand corner of the top rail (see images). Provenance - private collection, the same vendor as the Westmorland furniture.
