A Victorian Diamond and Pearl Brooch
Circa 1850

the heart-shaped frame with a coronet surmount, set throughout with cushion-shaped old mine cut and rose cut diamonds, the coronet decorated with three pearls and a larger articulated pearl to the centre with a rose cut diamond set cap, in white claw and collet settings, total estimated diamond weight 3.90 carat approximately

measures 4.1cm by 3.0cm

The brooch is accompanied by a Pearl Report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory, London, report number 21747, dated June 4, 2022, stating the pearls as natural (saltwater)

The brooch is in fair condition with damage and repair to the reverse with later pin. There is a pendant attachment however, it is to the base of the brooch. It fastens with a pin and revolver catch. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold and silver. The largest pearl measures 10.40mm x 9.12mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 13.3 grams. CR made 04.05.22.
