An Emerald and Diamond Brooch
early 20th century,

realistically modelled as a bird, the body and wings set throughout with old cut diamonds and round cut and calibré cut emeralds, in white pavé settings, round cut ruby eyes in millegrain settings, and a yellow plain polished beak, total estimated diamond weight 8.75 carat approximately, in a fitted case by E.A. Barker Ltd
measures 12.5cm by 8.0cm

The brooch is in good condition, with chips and nibbles throughout commensurate with age. It fastens with a pin and revolver catch and features a safety chain. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as platinum on gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 37.1 grams. CR made 28.09.22.
