Gillow: A Mahogany Double Pedestal Desk, circa 1850, labelled S & H Jewel, 131-2 High Holborn, London WC1, the gilt tooled green leather writing surface above a central drawer stamped Gillow, the brass lock stamped Hobbs Patent 110170, flanked by eight graduated drawers with pivoting and lockable stiles, on a moulded platform base with opposing cupboard doors, 150cm by 89cm by 76cm

Leather top is rather faded with various faults but useable, end panels with scratches, drawer fronts various veneer losses and one handle missing some variations in colour, mainly around the top with has some fading and deep scratches to corner, the right hand lockable style needs attention, as the sliding piece of timber which hides the lock is now detached. The key supplied does not fir, however all the drawers are open. The panels above the cupboard doors on the verso slightly faded
