Taxidermy: Indian TigerSkin (Panthera tigris tigris), circa 1930-1940, re-backed by Edward Gerrard & Sons, 61 College Place, London, NW 1, a full flat skin rug with flat head, limbs outstretched, re-backed onto black felt backing material, nose to tail 301cm, across the fore limbs 197cm, across the rear limbs 190cm, bearing an Edward Gerrard & Sons silk label to the underside
Brought back from India pre-partition (1947) by the vendor's father, whom later took it to Edward Gerrard & Son's to be re-backed onto the current black felt backing material, previously a linen backing material was attached. Since that date this has been kept in storage out of sight due to the vendor's mother's dislike for the skin.
