A George III Silver Inkstand, by John Emes, London, 1799, oval and on four tapering feet, with reeded rim and supports for the three silver-mounted cut-glass bottles, engraved with a crest, 20cm wide, weighable silver 4oz 15dwt, 149gr

Fully marked under base. Further part marked on each support and each detachable cover. The marks with some minor wear but generally legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving. There are some chips to the glass. The covers are somewhat loose fitting.

The first Antiques & Interiors sale of 2024 comprises over 900 lots and includes a specialist section of Affordable Modern & Contemporary Art, and over 170 lots of Silver, including part of a collection of Regimental Silver, sold by order of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to benefit the Fusiliers’ Aid Society. The second part of the Regimental Silver Collection will be included in the Jewellery, Watches and Silver Sale on 13th January.
