A large and valuable collection covering the North Yorkshire Market Town of Skipton. Housed in two modern red albums containing approx. 900 cards plus moderns and a few reproductions. Collected over a long period this is one of the best Skipton collections around. A mix of printed and Real Photographic cards in no particular order but many covering events such as the Flood of 3rd August 1908, The 1911 Coronation, Hospital Galas, Funerals of the Barrowford Charabanc Disaster, Co-op Front, Adverts, Football and Rugby Teams, Bands, Steamrollers, suburb animated street scenes etc. All of the Skipton photographers are well represented with Smith featuring most heavily but many examples by Prime, Carter and the Skipton Stationery Co. along with ranges of many better cards, some scarce by the likes of Lilywhite and Walter Scott. An excellent collection which deserves careful viewing.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
