Taxidermy: A Superb Case of Australasian Birds, circa 1900, by Charles Kirk (1872-1922), Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, a varied collection of rare birds to include - Magnificent Riflebird, Ragiana Bird of Paradise, Rainbow Lorikeet, Paradise Kingfisher, two Forrest Kingfishers, Azure Kingfisher, Hooded Pitta, Leaden Flycatcher, Juvenile Pink-Spotted Fruit Dove, Spangled Drongo, Varied Triller, Lovely Fairy Wren, Fan-Tailed Cuckoo, Green Oriole, Painted-Buttonquail, Dusky Honeyeater, all perched and mounted amidst a natural setting of branches, reeds, tall grasses, faux rocks and brush, enclosed within a period oak framed five-glass table display case, 69cm by 29cm by 67cm, taxidermist's small brass trade label to interior lower left
