(Black Album) An outstanding and highly valuable album containing some approx. 430 cards of Leeds Transport related cards plus a selection of photos. The vast majority of the cards are of Leeds and suburbs with a few further afield. All manners of Transport related including: Horse Drawn and with various local business wagons (38), Cars, Garages and also including two views of the March 1923 Motor Smash at Dawson’s Corner, Stanningley (31) Vans, again many sign written with Leeds business names (44), Steam Rollers / Accidents, Charabancs (27), Motorbuses (28) Bicycles / Motorcycles (9) Aviation (3) and the remaining 250 cards of Trams, Tram Terminus and also Drivers. Many of these cards are incredibly scarce and this album has taken a lifetime to assemble. Lots of high value cards.

Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
