In an overall tired state of preservation, relined , canvas slightly loose on stretcher, covered in a thick layer of dirt and discoloured varnish., pronounced old strtcher shadow has had a degree of restoration and disguising. large rudimentary patch of overpainitng and retouching just right of the gentlemans head approx 10cm in diameter. other various areas to surface showing fairly pronounced texture, likely areas of general retouching and restoration throughout notably a patch across the gentlemans forehead, flattenened and abraded surface from liekly old clean etc sold as found
