A 1914-15 Star, Victory Medal and Memorial Plaque, awarded to 3683B J.(James Burgon) HATTLE, SMN. R.N.R., in cardboard box and cardboard envelope of issue, with award letter, together with a brass plaque engraved IN LOVING MEMORY OF J.HATTLE WHO DIED JULY 21ST 1915 ON BOARD H.M.S. MACEDONIA AT FALKLAND ISLANDS. (4)

Footnote:- The 1st July 1915 ship's log for HMS Macedonia records that detonators extracted from mines raised from the harbour entrance at Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, exploded, causing the death of James Hattle and injuring six others. James Hattle was interred at 3pm on 3rd July 1915
