A Victorian Gold Presentation Key, Indistinct Incuse Maker's Mark Probably for Vaughton and Sons, Birmingham, 1891, 18ct, with fluted shank, the terminal cast with laurel leaves flanking a plain shield, enamelled on one side with a coat-of-arms and on the other with the inscription 'Douglas Head Marine Drive Isle of Man July 23rd 1891', all below a cast depiction of the Royal crest and crown, 11.5cm long, gross weight 2oz 1dwt (63.2gr)

The arms are those of Walpole for Sir Spencer Walpole, K.C.B., F.B.A. (1839-1907).

Douglas Head is a point of land which was originally part of the Nunnery Estate until it was given to 'the people of Douglas' in 1870. It was to become a popular tourist attraction by the end of the 19th century.
