Peter Moller seems to have made cups of this form something of a speciality with a number of similar examples known, including one of 1825 with a sleeve perhaps from the same cast as that on the present example (Christie's, South Kensington, 10 June 2010, lot 136) and two other examples of 1823 and 1831 (Christie's, London, 24 November 2014, lot 429).
