An Elizabeth II Silver Bowl, by Asprey, London, 1953, Further Struck With Bust of King Faisal, circular and on short reeded foot, with shaped foliage and shell-heightened gadrooned rim, engraved with an Arabic cypher below a royal crown, 12cm diameter, 5.1cm high, 4oz 15dwt, 148gr

The cypher is that of King Faisal II of Iraq (1939-1958).

Provenance:
Part of an extensive service commissioned for the coronation of Faisal in 1953. Though he had succeeded his father Ghazi I in 1939 his uncle Prince Abdullah had acted as his regent until Faisal came of age in May 1953 and was officially able to take the throne.
