Surface-printed collection/accumulation of approx 2000+ stamps plus occasional pleasant postal history in three photo albums, mixed condition, arranged by plates, including (sound used unless otherwise stated) 1856 1/- green several incl. lightly cancelled '62' in diamond and another with spoon pmk, 1868 4d plate 10 on cover, 2½d rosy mauve plate 17, a dozen or so 2/- blues, 1867 5/-, 1878 6d mint plate 16 (tiny thin spot), 1880 ½d deep green wmk inverted with clear London hooded cds, 1½d Venetian red on registered letter envelope, 1883/84 incl. 10/- ultramarine x4, 1888 £1 wmk orbs with absolutely no faults with cds, railway and red crayon cancels, 1891 £1 green x2 (one repaired), etc, etc.

Highlights of the October 30th Stamp Sale include a very extensive collection of Switzerland assembled over a lifetime by a former President of the Helvetia Society of Great Britain with focus on postal history beautifully written-up on album pages; a specialised collection of Ceylon with many of the key stamps including an excellent range of classics plus King George V key-plate high values, plus from the same estate a group of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir including a complete presentation album sent out in 1899 on behalf of the Maharajah. Also an extremely interesting large folio presentation volume of 19th Turkish revenue proof sets with ornate binding suggesting a possibly unique production for the Ottoman royal family.
