Auction: The Gold Collection – A Single Owner Sale of Royal Mint Gold Coins, 9th Oct, 2024
Predominantly composed of post-millennium examples, the collection includes a large range of UK commemorative gold proof coins celebrating Royal Anniversaries and Jubilees, the 2012 London Olympics, pioneering Britons and significant historical events. This is coupled with a strong selection of both brilliant uncirculated and proof sovereigns, five pound coins and sovereign sets.
Highlights in the approximately 150-lot sale will include a rare gold proof ‘Kew Gardens’ 50p, and with only 629 issued this is one of the rarest and most sought-after coins in the series. Also of note are several four and five-coin sovereigns sets, which were issued in low numbers, and the full Olympics 2012 ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger’ gold coin set. In addition, both investors and collectors will be pleased to see a large selection of unopened sovereigns still in their brilliant uncirculated condition. Nearly all the coins featured in this sale are unhandled and still in their original packaging.
This sale will have a buyer's premium of 15% + VAT (18% in total)
