. relined likely old clean and revarnish now showing significant discolouration and surface dirt including slightly chsalky quality in areas, there are numerous superficial scuffs and abrasions across surface. more pronounced horizontal scratch in upper left corner approx 1cm. areas of pronounced small sized craquelure and crazing especially where paint is thinned such as his left hand shoulder and arm, elbow and paint is thin around necktie and the white paint across his chest. larger sized craquelure to face. large right angled tear or repaired damage running fullmlenth of his right hand arm and across shoulder. further areas of restoration throughout.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
