1840 to 1960s collection mint and used in a well-filled Lindner hingeless album, all the imperf line-engraved with four margins incl. attractive 1d black and 1840 2d blue, 1d reds with 6-in-cross x2, 1d red 'stars' varieties mint (2), 1½d lake-red plates 1 and 3 mint, the surface-printed issues also assembled with quality in mind, incl. 1867 9d and 10d cds, excellent 2/- brown with majority cds part of a relatively neat duplex (SG.121, cat. £4,250), through to Jubilee set MNH and vibrant, KGVI with the good high values MNH and solid MNH Wildings with the watermark varieties, 2nd DLR castles, etc.

Highlights of the October 30th Stamp Sale include a very extensive collection of Switzerland assembled over a lifetime by a former President of the Helvetia Society of Great Britain with focus on postal history beautifully written-up on album pages; a specialised collection of Ceylon with many of the key stamps including an excellent range of classics plus King George V key-plate high values, plus from the same estate a group of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir including a complete presentation album sent out in 1899 on behalf of the Maharajah. Also an extremely interesting large folio presentation volume of 19th Turkish revenue proof sets with ornate binding suggesting a possibly unique production for the Ottoman royal family.
