. in fully restored condition, relined, cleaned and revarnished. picture slighlty adrift in frame along top edge. covered in a layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. small white splash of paint to upper left hand corner, and odd other splashed grey coloured paint within background mostly centre left although not exclusively. cluster of varnish abrasions along left hand side left 10cm from upper left hand corner. further small nic to canvas and other tiny surface abrasion along lower edge right of centre. small area of losses within the gentlemans right hand lapel, within upper section approx 0.5cm across. varying sized craquelure through surface which is slightly flattened as a result of restoration. gouge/scratch below left hand side of necktie approx 0.5cm in length. little to descern under a UV light but there are likely areas of restoration and overpainting such as his right hand cheek, hair, garment and strengthening to background etc.
