An Early 20th Century Monumental Carved Wood and Polychrome Decorated Screen, the ebonised hardwood frame enclosing a foliate border with pierced and trailing base and surrounding a landscape of storks, the base decorated with fish and flanked by two monkeys, 160cm by 51cm by 190cm

Revised estimate £7000-£10,000 Generally, reasonable condition throughout, though with some slight discolouration/rubbing in the coloured areas mainly around the fish. The timber is also rather dry in places and there are some natural? gaps/splits evident around the top-left hand corner, small losses throughout, as well as around the monkeys (see images).
We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
