Stamps, Postcards & Postal History

  Lot 35

35

Great Britain

1883-'84 high values mostly mint group, with shades on the 2/6, the pale shade cited as blued paper but we aren't so sure and have not counted it as such. Shades also on the 5/- and 10/-, one of the latter with suggestion of the dullness of cobalt (not picked up by scan) though presumably still a shade of ultramarine (vertical crease at right). Also a cds used 10/- with rusting at edges otherwise superb. Slight toning on some top perf tips on the mint examples. Min. cat. £8,300.

Sold for £550
Estimated at £350 - £450
