A German/Bohemian Enamelled Kurfürstenhumpen, bearing the date 1595, of swollen cylindrical form with a gilded band below the rim, enamelled with green and red dots and beading, the main body with a continuous frieze depicting Holy Roman Emperor enthroned (the dais dated 1595), flanked by four electors on his left side and three further electors on his right side, each titled to their state, including BRANDENBERG, PFALZ and TRIER, and COLLEN (Cologne), standing full length flanked by a lily-of-the-valley spray, and with multiple line inscriptions in white enamel to the base and below the rim, 27.5cm high

Star crack approx 10cm x 8cm to side of the humpen stretching from the bottom half of the shields to the right hand side of the dais down to just above the footrim. Typical flaws to the metal throughout and some minor wear to enamel decoration. 250512
