Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Cased Heron & French Partridge, dated 1888, by H. H. Kew. Taxidermist & Hairdresser, 5 Eastgate, Louth, a full mount adult male Heron and French Partridge, both stood upon painted faux rock work, amidst a natural setting of dry grasses and moss, enclosed within a large painted pine single-glass display case, 69cm by 23cm by 91cm, bearing hand written label to verso "Heron (male), found dead at Totshill Lincs, in 1888, mounted by H. Kew, Louth", hand written text to verso of case "Neville Inge, son of Rev John. E. A. Inge, Clayton-Le-Marsh, Lincs".

Outer painted scumbled pine surfaces scratched throughout conducive with age, no evidence of any re-painting of either birds beaks or legs, Heron is in good overall condition holding original colour, case structure sound, original period glass, section of beading missing to lower right corner to the base and upright (see images), Partridge has a rogue feather hanging from beneath the tail, groundwork and fauna faded typical for age, hand written legend and label to verso of case.
