Taxidermy: Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), by Van Ingen & Van Ingen, Mysore, India, No 26496, circa 1939, tiger skin rug with head mount, jaw agape, glass eyes, mounted upon typical original canvas backing, with black serrated felt border, vestiges of Van Ingen care label to verso, Van Ingen Van Ingen Mysore stencilling to canvas backing, 267cm nose to tail, 190cm across the fore-limbs, 168cm across the rear-limbs. Taken by Dr. G. Galstann, 34 Chowlingree, Calcutta, West Bengal, India, on 27/03/1939, sold with a photo copy of the original entry into Van Ingen & Van Ingen order books Cites Annex A, Appendix I (exempt)

Claws rear Left 0, rear right 4, front right 4, front left 5, tail has old repairs - stitched repair + damaged section, numerous old stitched repairs throughout skin, damaged left flank section, old stitched repair to left of neck area (poor repair), left + right ear tips damaged, eyes good, teeth original, top fangs slightly loose and split, bottom fangs slightly loose and split, no whiskers remain, some rubbing to top nose area, Rob 18/09/18
