Two French Advertising Fans relating to alcoholic drinks, one a cockade. The cockade advertises Veuve Amiot "Military", a sparkling wine, with "Crémant du Roi on the verso, opening to a red paper interior. Printed by Chambrelent with a mark déposé. Next, a fan designed by Maurice Leloir and printed by "IMP. CAMIS, PARIS", with the design of maidens in the costume of the various allied countries, Britannia to the left, France to the foreground, the ladies raising their glasses to the dragonfly lady to the centre, who holds a bottle of alcohol, with several winged cherubs in attendance carrying more supplies. The verso bears a simple label for "Murray's Club", the guards are both marked with "Courvoisier Cognac". Guard length 8.5 inches or 21.5cm (2)

Interestingly, although the word "Military" is used on the label, this sparking drink predates WWI and in a Christie's auction a good few years back, the fan was attributed to 1905

Sold for £30
Estimated at £40 - £60

. The cockade is in good order; the folding fan has nicks to most upper folds.
