Four 20th Century Advertising Fans for Beverages, to include a centenary example in fontange...

Four 20th Century Advertising Fans for Beverages, to include a centenary example in fontange form for Amer Picon (1837-1937), noted as after Georges Scot, 1936 and showing a soldier in uniform holding a bottle aloft as he gallops off on his white charger having rescued a young lady in local costume. The verso shows beasts of burden pulling a cart laden with grapes, advertising the family aperitif of Pikina. Printed in Paris; a second, smaller example for Amer Picon shows a local child leading a donkey along a beach, laden with freshly picked fruit. The verso carries the Pikini design as before. Produced for V. Espi fanmaker, Paris, and credited also to L. Marboeuf, Paris; a cockade advertising fan produced by Chambrelent for GET/PIPPERMINT, showing to the recto a lady with musical instrument seated in a boat with a swan figurehead; and a cockade advertising fan for KINA LILLET, "Le préféré des Gourmets". The recto shows a fashionable lady of the day with floral chiffon dress and marcel waved hair, glass in hand (4)
