IOHANES.MARIA.DVX.MEDIOLANI.3C around quatrefoil enclosing coiled serpent (arms of Milan) flanked by letters I & M, one coin with rev. S.AMROSIV MEDIOLAN around facing nimbate figure of Saint Ambrose wearing mitre, seated on ornate throne holding crozier & scourge & one with S. AMBROSIV MEDIOLANI around similar figure of Saint Ambrose but with different clerical robes; both diameter 23mm with respective weights 2.39g & 2.38g, .512 silver; both well struck with full clear legends VF & GVF or+
