King George V 'seahorses' group, all cds used, with 1918-19 Bradbury Wilkinson 2/6d shades, 5/- and 10/- and the 1934 re-engraved set, SG.413a, 415a/417, 450/452, cat. £685. The only significant issues being re-engraved 2/6d with hidden fault and light wrinkles on the 5/-. Also the Downey head 1d. with Imperial Crown watermark inverted, SG.341Wi, cat. £400, perfs at top a little trimmed from booklet origin.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
