Two Continental Papier-Mache Parade Masks, circa 1940, one modelled as a grinning Pierrot clown, the other as a 'cross-eyed' bumpkin with a polychrome painted hat, 60cm and 57cm high respectively Provenance: Christie's 'Out of the Ordinary' Sale, 5th September 2013, Lot 25

. Grinning Pierrot clown: Nose and both chips with some paint loss to the red areas, minor paint losses to the extremities including collar, ears, hair and hat, the structure is in good condition. Cross-eyed bumpkin: Small hole and a split to the right hand lower mouth area 1cm, crack to the upper left side of mouth, general paint loss and flaking overall extremities including cheek, nose, hat, collar, hair, etc. Overall structure is good.
