Six 19th Century Chinese Bone Fans, Qing Dynasty, five mounted with feathers, some painted....

Six 19th Century Chinese Bone Fans, Qing Dynasty, five mounted with feathers, some painted. Comprising a goose feather fan topped with peacock feathers, the shaped gold metal loop finished with a silk tassel. Overall height 12 inches or 30.5cm; a bone fan with pierced sticks, the feathers colourfully painted in strong red, blue and green, with a central painting of two robed figures. The verso is similar but lacking the figures. Overall height 10.5 inches or 27cm; a similar bone fan, the central feature being the heads of two colourful birds. Overall height 10.5 inches or 27cm; a smaller bone fan, the guards and gorge incised and gilded, the feathers pink with blue and red and two central colourful birds. Overall height 8.5 inches or 21.5cm; a very similar fan, this time the feathers in pale lemon, with two central birds. Overall height 8.5 inches or 21.5cm, and a larger bone brisé fan, the sixteen inner sticks and two guards pierced in bands in a regular fashion, with a central oval and two side vignettes of oblong form. Rounded tips. Guard length 10.25 inches or 26cm (6)

. In general, the feathers are defective in some way, see images. Two fans have damage to the monture. All need attention to the stringing and the bone brisé needs a new ribbon.
